OTTAWA VALLEY COMMUNITY ARTS is hiring A COMMUNICATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT PERSON
• Part-time, Contract Position
• 10 hours/week; $30/hour, initial contract six months, with possibility of extension

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• set up and maintain filing systems, both project-based and administrative
• schedule OVCAOS events
• develop a project/artist/creative person database based on OVCAOS relationships across
Renfrew County
• assist with grant proposals, gather grant monitoring information, and prepare final reports for the review and approval of the co-artistic directors
• liaise with board members, vendors, service providers, the bookkeeper, artists and other creative people, and OVCAOS partners generally to provide information, assist with financial and administrative processes and practices and follow up on any outstanding issues or concerns
• maintain OVCAOS’s policy suite, including the board review schedule and the timing of updates and revisions
• prepare and manage public communications including ad copy, press releases, newsletters and digital content
reQUIred skills and abilities
• strong written and oral communication skills
• proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive, with energy and aptitude to learn new software and systems
• home office-based with experience in managing a multi-disciplinary, multi-location, often virtual work environment (must be willing and able to travel as an occasional part of the job)
• experience developing internal processes and filing systems
• high degree of comfort and capacity to deal with multitasking, changing priorities and rapidly evolving environments
• self-motivated, curious and open to learning new skills and abilities
Desired skills
(not essential, but candidates with these skills, in addition to those listed above, will have an advantage)
• passion for the arts and the Ottawa Valley and all it offers
• advanced database management skills
• comfort with numbers
• graphic design experience
• digital and social media skills
